Prioritizing by Score

Use the domain score to prioritize which domains to address first, especially when DMARC report data is not yet available.

When to Use Score-Based Prioritization

Score-based prioritization is best suited for domains that do not yet have sufficient DMARC report data. The score provides an immediate assessment of a domain's email security posture based on its DNS configuration (SPF, DKIM, DMARC records).

warning

If your domains are already receiving DMARC reports, prefer prioritizing by ticket count instead. Ticket counts reflect real-world authentication failures and provide a more accurate picture of which domains need attention.

How to Prioritize

On the Domains page, sort by the Score column to rank domains from worst to best.

Priority Order

  1. Red (High-Risk) -- Address these domains first. They have significant email security gaps that leave them vulnerable to spoofing and phishing. Common issues include missing DMARC records, no SPF, or overly permissive policies.

  2. Yellow (Medium-Risk) -- Address these next. They have partial email security configurations but still have gaps that should be resolved. Common issues include permissive DMARC policies (p=none) or SPF records with too many lookups.

  3. Green (Low-Risk) -- Monitor these domains. They have solid email security configurations but should still be reviewed periodically to ensure nothing has regressed.

Tips

  • Filter and sort -- Combine score sorting with group filters to focus on a specific client's domains.
  • Hover for tooltips -- Hover over a domain's score to see a breakdown of what is contributing to the rating.
