DMARC with Palisade

Starting with DMARC can feel overwhelming, especially if you're new to email authentication. Palisade is here to make it simple, automated, and low-maintenance. This guide provides a comprehensive overview of the setup process, including step-by-step instructions for monitoring compliance and securing your domain.

Step 1: Add Domains​

  1. Navigate to the Domains Page: The Domains Page provides a central hub to manage all your domains.
  2. Add a Domain: Add and confirm your domain.
  3. Start setting up your domain: Type in the domain name you want to add and click Next.
  4. Review the name, and click Confirm.
  5. Click on Set up now. This will open the Domain Setup step in a new tab.
  6. Generate a DMARC Record: Palisade will create a customized DMARC record.
  7. Update DNS Settings: Follow the recommended instructions to set up the DMARC record.

Check out our guide to adding and setting up a domain. If automatic setup is available, after clicking Configure you will be prompted to login to your DNS provider and accept the DNS changes.

DNS Provider Support

Palisade supports an ever-growing list of 60+ DNS providers for automatic integration. If your provider is not on the list, you can use manual setup and add the records provided by Palisade to the DNS provider you are using.

What to Expect​

Once the DNS updates propagate (usually within 24--48 hours), Palisade will begin receiving the domain's DMARC data. Initial reports will be available on the Domain Overview Page, showing your email traffic and sending sources.

No need to view the reports, though. Palisade will also automatically create tickets to address any DNS misconfiguration or DMARC misalignment.

Quick FAQ​

How do I know if my domain is set up correctly?​

Within a few hours, you should see your domain's verification status displayed in the Palisade Dashboard -- no need to check in. Once Palisade detects that your DNS record has been updated, you will receive a confirmation email. After 24 hours, if the configuration is incorrect, you will also be notified.

How soon will I be able to view data in the dashboard?​

If your domain is actively sending emails, data will appear on the Domain Overview Page within a few hours after setup, and at most within 2--3 days.
